WIND BENEATH MY WINGS
"Did you ever know know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be ?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
cause you are the wind beneath my wings."

My Papaji is my hero. He is everything I want to be and everything I hope that I will be someday for someone else. I live each day feeling blessed with a wonderful and caring family, and even more the most wonderful grandpa.

I remember my first date with Alok, when we were driving to Crossroads, and unlike what others would imagine, we were actually talking about our grandfathers. How proud we were of them, how they have created an empire from nothing at all, how their values have shaped us to be the person we are today and how we would love to be like them ! Indeed, it fascinates me even today to think of how this man who never even went to college, has proved to be the best engineer, architect and entrepreneur all rolled in one.

I fail to express in words my admiration for this great man, but can just say THANK YOU GOD for giving me Papaji.
Though I have been away from home on and off since the last five years, I have spent some quality time with him. The best time I spent with Papaji was in Bangalore when he had come to visit me with his friends. He come to see my Infosys office and to all the places I wanted to show him.

Papaji has always been a friend to me. In just a few words, he encourages and inspires us with keen observation, gentle humour and loving advice. His friendliness has made excellence easy, virtues effortless and spirituality natural. In the real sense of the word, he is the MAN.

If my Papaji is Himalaya, my motamummy was Ganges, full of love, kindness, cheerfulness. Her hospitality was legendary. She was `Annapurna'. She was like a silken thread keeping the flowers of Gandhi family together. Her love, laughter, encouragement, simplicity, profound wisdom and values will always be our guiding force.
